吃不停 不肥不胖沒有安全感？
（優活健康網記者湯蕎伊／編輯整理）很多人認為肥胖是飲食或體質造成的結果，但以新時代思想的觀點來看，在身體發胖前，內在就已發出訊息，要求主人大量進食，或在身體儲存更多的能量，好為生命提供某些服務、解決某些問題。唯有這些問題得到面對、能夠處理，才能徹底解除肥胖的困擾。
肥胖者不斷累積能量或進食，主要是為了增加存在的安全感，或對生命的掌控。有些人努力增加分量以應付生命中難以預料的危機、扛負生命的重擔，或警告隱於暗處可能危害自己的第三者：我不好惹。有些人利用肥胖降低自己外表的吸引力，讓同性朋友放心以換取堅固的友誼，或減低自己對異性的吸引力，以削減自己對性的焦慮。
找回安全感擺脫體重
曾經有過重問題的Ａ小姐說，她大量進食主要是為了得到控制權，因為食物是她唯一能掌握的東西。此外，除了食物，她不知道還有什麼是她想要就能得到的。 她回憶自己未滿周歲就被送進幼稚園，在完全陌生且無力抗拒的環境中，只有吃東西能提供她安定的感覺，而且乖乖吃完東西也是當時博取師長肯定的好方法，由此她的體重開始不受控制、直線上升。
長大後，她不具競爭力的外表也讓她贏得很多同性友誼，同性朋友對她毫無防備，什麼事都願意告訴她，這是她和同性好友間微妙的默契與平衡。當她明白自己過量進食是為了獲得生命的掌控權，而開始改變心態取得對生命的掌控權時，她的體重便逐漸下降。
然而，她和同性朋友的關係也開始面臨微妙的變化，原本認為Ａ小姐沒有競爭力而和她在一起的女性，開始澆她冷水，或者疏遠她。她面臨兩難，知道一旦自己減重成功，原來的朋友很可能就會離她而去。
Ｂ小姐從小就得對抗別人的欺負，所以內心一直有強烈的不安全感，她的潛意識一直告訴自己：只要我夠強壯，別人就不敢欺負我！於是她的身體完全儲存吸收進來的每一份能量，即使理性建議她減肥，潛意識仍然不斷地告訴她：維持體重才能保障你的安全，於是她的體重始終難以下降。
外在行為都只是因應心靈的渴求
坊間減肥方法建議肥胖者用各種生理的方式減重，但新時代的思想則建議運用更深層的心靈力量。因為減重不是單純的飲食習慣和熱量控制問題，這些外在行為都只是因應心靈的渴求。所以，瞭解你所渴求的，試圖以內在的方法解除自己的不安全感，或達到你期待的目標，別讓身體獨力去面對這些問題，體重才可能成功下降。
